TRANSHIPMENT

GOODS CONSIGNED FOR TRANSHIPMENT

OR CLEARLY MARKED WITH PORT … ETC.

EXEMPTED FROM CUSTOMS DUTY

 

155. No customs duties shall be collected, on the goods which are consigned to a Sudanese port, or aerodrome, for transhipment to a destination abroad, where it is shown, on the manifest that they are ”for transhipment”, or where the cases or wrappings containing the same are marked in clear letters with the name of the ultimate place of destination.

BUT DULY DECLARED FOR TRANSHIPMENT

EXEMPTED FROM EXPORT DUTY

 

156. Goods intended for transhipment, but not manifested, or not marked with the name of the ultimate port, or place of destination abroad, as aforesaid, and the goods are not originally intended for transhipment, but required to be transhipped shall, where the Chief Customs Officer approves the same, be allowed to be transhipped, without export duties being paid thereon.

 

 

SECURITY FOR ARRIVAL OF TRANSHIPPED

GOODS AT DECLARED DESTINATION

 

157. The Chief Customs Officer may require the owner of goods intended to be transhipped, at any Sudanese port, or aerodrome, to give security that such goods shall be landed, or delivered, at the place for which they are declared, or otherwise accounted to convince the Chief Customs Officer, who may refuse to allow the transhipment of such goods, unless such security is given to him.
